Will Writing
We cannot over emphasise the importance of having a valid Will in place. If you don't have a Will the law decides how your estate is to be passed on and this may not be in line with your wishes. It is possible to write a Will yourself, but without expert advice you may find that despite your best intentions, the document is open to misinterpretations and ultimately not valid in the eyes of the law.

Lasting Power Of Attorney
A lasting power of attorney is a legal document allowing you to appoint one or more people to either help you make decisions or to make decisions on your behalf.
This can be important as it allows you to have more control over what happens to you if you have an accident or an illness which causes you to lack the mental capacity to make decisions for yourself.

Family Protection Trusts
A family protection trust is a legal option that allows you pool your assets into a trust fund while you are alive and choose who will inherit from the fund. This type of fund must be set up while you have full capacity as you will be the trustee, often alongside your partner, a family member or professional trustees.

Family Protection Trusts can be used for holding several assets such as cash, shares, property and other investments.
